As you should all be aware we recently took action against those players that took advantage of a flaw in the PvP XP System.

We understand that many of you have questions about how this was done, and of course some of those affected have questions about why they were targeted.

Although we are unable to go into specific detail about the process, what we can say is that we used information gathered from our Database to identify those players that gained what was considered a "substantial" amount of PvP XP during the time frame where such a thing was possible. These cases we then investigated further. We have then taken what we consider to be appropriate action against those players by reducing their PvP Levels to what they were before it was possible to take advantage of this flaw and removing all PvP Gear.

Some of you might feel that you were unfairly targeted; if you are one of them then we simply ask that you write a mail to support@ageofconan.com with the name of the character that was affected and the server name on which it plays so that our Customer Support staff can begin our investigation into the matter. As always, you should receive your response within 24 hours. Should our staff find a flaw in the system we will take appropriate measures to ensure that your character will be restored to the former status.

I do have a question, was it intentional to roll pvp xp back to lvl1 even if the offenders were legit lvl 2 or 3 before hand? Either way it's cool with me, just wanted to clarify since the forums seem to be filled with that conversation.

well see i gained 1 lvl (2-3) and felt obligated to do it so that I could compete. (yes I was wrong but can't change that now). I was actually in favor of a roll back and if it was intentional to put everyone at lvl 1, that's perfect, now we are all on equal playing field .

So yeah, I like the change.

Nice to see you guys can parse the Database and correct the exploits. Hopefully this will be a wakeup call for the morons that think they can exploit and get away with it.

Please keep in mind that this was primarily intra-guild exploiting meaning people would drop guild and rejoin to exploit. Certainly that activity is trackable... and requires a guild officer to reinvite. Will there be any sanctions on guilds that participated?

Ah glad to see an offical word on the subject. I'm sure this must have been a very hard thing to do, sorting everyone out. Granted ideally the problem should have never happened but the world is far from an ideal place. Glad to see you're doing your best to set things right, no doubt a major undertaking.
