    Here some test to compare:

    RECKONING:
    Def stance:
    Your Flashing Arc IV slashes Straw Man for 284.
    Your Flashing Arc IV slashes Straw Man for 300.
    Your Flashing Arc IV slashes Straw Man for 270.
    Your Reckoning hits Straw Man for 180 slashing damage.

    Frenzy stance:
    Your Flashing Arc IV slashes Straw Man for 369.
    Your Flashing Arc IV slashes Straw Man for 391.
    Your Flashing Arc IV slashes Straw Man for 351.
    Your Reckoning hits Straw Man for 794 slashing damage.

    Damage boost is about +340%

    PRIME INITIATIVE:
    Def stance:
    Your Prime Initiative hits Straw Man for 612 crushing damage.

    Frenzy stance:
    Your Prime Initiative hits Straw Man for 993 crushing damage.

    Damage boost is about +60%.

    There are many patches with an explanation that when you go to test it out you find it's nothing like that.

    It's common knowledge that magic damage modifier affects reckoning. Combat rating never scales, weapon damage does. It's obvious which one is better, but both do increase dps.

    As far as magic damage gems, it was possible, only in GEM ERA AoC, to put 3 lightning damage gems into a crafted pole arm and get some ridiculous weapon dps number in the 2,000+ mark. That was when heroic stats were still in play, so a totally different system. There is no actual magic damage today you can apply to a guard to increase the damage of SS, only combat rating, weapon damage, and strength, and of course magical damage MODIFER from frenzy.
