    Yes f2p is the way to go. That will keep this game alive.
    Whoa there pal, it is known thing that gw2 has more content updates then aocs pay-every-month-15$-or-the-amazing-100$-deal-offer-that-ulmately-quite-frankly-gives-more-of-the-same sub formula. Honestly FC already has a system of buy-to-play business model, which is the cash shop and FC pts, from there FC and actually commercialism in other ways this virtual 'currency'

    If aoc has a nice competitive price to compete with the other, critically acclaimed, hot game of 2008 that is gta4, selling more than 20 million copies, I'd probably consider it. Right now gta4 can be purchased for about 9.99 before taxes fora lifetime sub. 6.99$ for aoc lifetime, a few FC pts and a few more incentives: I enjoy the game, even tho its nearly 5yrs old now and has had questionable leadership, I just might consider

    I'd buy another copy for $10 (or even $20) bucks if it would spur some content and updates ~ Subscriptions have gone the way of the Dodo Bird ...

    I still enjoy the social aspects and jumping into a t2/3 from time to time ~ I saw someone in Global ask lowbies if they wanted quest assistance the other day. That sounds like a novel idea and would probably retain players ~ so I helped a couple folks out too .

    Holy crap is it too late for a refund. Thought after years they would have fixed this crappy start up and run of this game. Of all the games I play this is the only one that crashes. 1 month into my yearly and it looks like I just threw that money down the crapper...

    You got nvidia's 600 series? With that the game has crashed for a year and they haven't got around fixing it yet. Other than that there's not much crashing in the game.

    From FUNCOM (TARIB) archives:
    F2P FAQ
    .
    F2P vs Premium Overview

    .
    outdated stuff:

    - all classes available to f2p
    - all "old world" solo dungeons and 6-man dungeons are available to f2p (except unchained versions)
    - gold limit is 10g to f2p
    - if not mistaken f2p can have 3 slot characters instead of two (not sure)

    these changes came on the update 3.5 (13th of December)

    It is 2 slots still, but if you ever got or bought additional slots, they add more unlockable chars.

    I have 4 character slots available on my f2p account. But that is most likely because it has been premium in the past and has purchased the khitai xpac, which I don't have access to any longer.
    Thank you very much funcom for ripping me off on that xpac I purchased but can't access!!!
    Rock and Roll does not love you, Funcom.

    This is a good example why the mere fact that an argument is old doesn't mean that it is not silly. Khitai has always been subscription only content. This is the basis on which you decided to purchase RotGS. Why on Earth do you now feel entitled to accessing it for free?

    Btw it is an entirely different question whether Funcom should make more content available for free to stop the FTP drain at level 80. That is a question of business logic. And unlike feelings of entitlement, business logic is something which actually is amenable to rational argument...

    in my opinion:
    - RotGS and Turan should be removed as a pack;
    - AA training window with a permanent access PURCHASED on store if you are F2P, instead of the need of the RotGS pack to activate it once (then go to f2p again);
    - access any turan areas, khitai, and future new level 80 instances/region (dragon spine for example) available with keys on store (as they are currently with some amount of days) being f2p;
    - for p2p players, they all have access to anything in the game, kithai and turan areas/intances plus any new stuff for high level
    - the AA window for p2p could have a small difference, like p2p doesnt need to purshace on store the AA if at least he payed 3 months subscriptions (any month at any time, like a counter), so that player, when goes from p2p to f2p he has payed enough to compensate the need to buy the AA in store, so it becomes permenant also, otherwise needs to buy the access
