Funcom Community Update - 8th March

The combined forums are live and the discussions seem to pick up nicely. We will keep on checking if additional tweaks or changes are necessary but currently it looks good. As mentioned before, the planned visual changes and update to a newer version of vBulletin are still on the plate and we will get around to do those until around mid 2013.

We are currently also looking into ways to improve the subscription for new players. The idea is to decrease the disparity between end-game players with full AA trees and players that arrive at the end-game. This is something that many of you veteran players have mentioned to be worth taking a look at and we are planning to do that. More details to follow.

Another hot topic is the single-server tech and the plans with it. We are aware that all of you want to know more about it and we should be able to announce the latest news about the status very soon now.

And last but not least, Massively has been talking to Game Director Joel Bylos about the centralized TSW, AoC, and AO development team. You find that interview on Massively.com.

So, that's where I'd start.
to piggyback off this, Offer ax AA bonus for group quests. So this would encourage people to do the scale-able instances and dungeons more as well as grouping in general. This will help the newbies and reduce the gap

I want less talk, less promises, less hype, and more results. We are paying and are not getting our money's worth.

My biggest fear is that the current dev team will be stretched too thin. And rather then concentrating their efforts and making one game brilliant they try to do much everywhere and all the games collapse.

This is just one possibility, obviously I'm not privy to FC corporate/management structure but will we see another high quality content update? Can funcom capture all the steam players running around in set? Will TSW continue to drag down FC and with it AoC?

P.S. The one big thing going for us is that AoC is fun com's bread and butter game, its what's keeping the lights on,let's all hope it only continues to get even more popular!

Funcom, just in case you were wondering how to increase revenue, eliminate the AA gap, and vastly increase the amount of people playing aoc..... forums-us.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=243483 .

They could easily lower the gap in AAs by dividing the time needed to train up a skill by 10.

And by Crom, its been nearly a week and we haven't had a new update put in yet.

We might give the new team a month or two to do things, don't you think? I certainly think I'm getting my moneys worth as it stands right now. Its cheaper per month for me than going to one first run movie and buying snacks and a whole lot more entertaining.

Finding ways to decrease the gap in AA for future players wont do much over time to reduce the insurmountable gap that will remain with those players who are already way ahead in AA - you'd never catch up. Same with PVP levels. Do all you want - you either have a choice to leave the gap as it is to not tick off those players who deservedly earned those levels and AA over time, or you do nothing and make it impossible for new players to ever be competitive as new 80's vs old 80's and not want to continue with the game. Its a dilemma.

Trying to find middle ground almost seems like a worse idea overall.

I don't know what the answer is, but then again I'm not so sure anybody does.....
