Was thinking about a 2H whirlwind build but didn't want to respec the 25s to test out.

What kind of combo is Whirlwind?

Is it dual wield only or can I use it with 2 handers?

I heard it was a long cooldown but if I can't use it with 2 handers to 1 shot people then I need to redo the spec.

It would be a total waste of points for you to spec that far down the tree if you want to use 2H weapons. If you want to try Whirlwind go Dual Wield.

You cant even use it with a 2 hander equipped
As for its functionality, it is essentially a beefed up Hail of Furious strikes, it even has a very similar animation and sound effect

Might not be easy mode, but instead of giving up after a few tries (which is probably what most people do) I'm going to keep working at it.

Seriously. Thats 40 wasted points just to get WW on a 2H build, and the damage output of that is going to be pretty damn weak.

I will tell you right now that using 2her for WW combo will be LESS damage that dual wield. This is because dual wield will hit with BOTH weapons as you spin around. Also you need to look at your weapon damage... upon doing so you will see that 1hers hit harder (when specced right) than 2hers... And you have two of them giving the chance to proc an OH attack... So... Please for the love of god, don't waste the money trying this, just send the 2g to me in an in-game mail and save yourself the trouble.
