After reading posts about people thinking males attack faster then females, I decided to do some thorough testing. I did each test 3 times for better accuracy on timers.

All testing done with the same 2H Edged weapon on a HoX , however this applies to all classes as I have done testing on other classes.


20 Swings of UPPER LEFT

Test 1

Male: 20 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 20 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 2

Male: 21 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 20 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 3

Male: 20 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 20 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Conclusion on UPPER LEFT : Same swing speed



20 Swings of TOP ATTACK

Test 1

Male: 19 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 29 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 2

Male: 19 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 30 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 3

Male: 20 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 30 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Conclusion on TOP ATTACK: There is a large (35%) Swing speed difference on male and female top attack.

Test 1

Male: 23 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 30 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 2

Male: 22 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 30 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 3

Male: 22 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 31 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Conclusion on UPPER RIGHT : There is a large (26%) Swing speed difference on male and female upper right attack.

Test 1

Male: 23 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 26 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 2

Male: 22 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 26 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 3

Male: 22 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 26 seconds to complete 20 swings.


Conclusion on LOWER LEFT : There is a moderate (15%) Swing speed difference on male and female lower left attack.

Test 1

Male: 22 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 30 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 2

Male: 22 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 30 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Test 3

Male: 21 seconds to complete 20 swings.
Female: 30 seconds to complete 20 swings.

Conclusion on LOWER RIGHT : There is a large (26%) Swing speed difference on male and female lower right attack.




Combo :Hellstrikes IV ( Combo start to cast bar finish )

Test 1

Male: 4 seconds to complete Hellstrikes IV
Female: 7 seconds to complete Hellstrikes IV

Test 2

Male: 5 seconds to complete Hellstrikes IV
Female: 7 seconds to complete Hellstrikes IV

Test 3

Male: 4 seconds to complete Hellstrikes IV
Female: 7 seconds to complete Hellstrikes IV



This needs to be looked into , it applies to all combos as well which has a major impact on PvP and endgame PvE




UPDATE



My first test shows females do indeed swing much slower then males , as well as much slower combos depending on the attack directions used.


People have been saying its equal because they also hit harder , but do they really?

Here is some testing I did ( characters are both level 61 , naked , the same class , have the SAME exact talent build , using the same 2h sword from level 60 destiny quest attacking the same mob , same level. One is male , one is female ) .Also white damage was not tracked because it is meaningless , although it appeared to be the same.

Conclusion : I expected the total numbers to be at least a bit more random due to... randomness , but however I guess these came out to be very , very close results. I think 50 hits is enough to prove that there was no intention to give females more damage then males reguardless of slower attack speeds.

Good Solid data, hope they use it. Seems completely ludcicrous they even had anything about sex coded into combat specs.

That's insane. Thank you for taking the time to check up on this. It's extremely irritating to realize that because I (being female) wanted to play a female in game, I'm being penalized for it. Is this Funcom's idea of paying homage to Conan lore by making female characters inherently weaker? Or did they just not care enough to balance out the sexes?

i pray it was just an accident or bug. If they wanted to make females inferior why not go the whole 9 yards. make them hit for less, have less hp, do most things "worse" than a man simply because they already started down that path :$

maybe the female animations from the motion capture are just a little bit longer than male animations and they forgot to calculate animation time while coding the combos. LOL... if this is the problem, then it's a newb dev thing.

This is a real problem in my opinion and needs to be addressed and fixed now. There is absolutely no justification for this and it is ludacris it even made past this stage of beta. Yeah, beta, it is just a paying customer beta that the software industry has decided is acceptable since bug fixes can be downloaded from the internet. This however, is not a bug, it is deliberate. Someone seems to have a problem with equality of sexes. As far as the excuse of the time of the animation being responsible, speed up the animation to match the timing of the male animation. As it is rendered on the fly this should not be difficult.
