LDB Not Found Error and Huge Download
Last night (May 31) AoC crashed and when I try to log back in I get an "LDB (14000:7) Not Found" error (the last number is not always 7) and a 909 Mb download starts. Looks like it will take about 8 hours to finish. Is this part of a major fix?

I have read of 2 solutions. The long one is:
1) Run SimpleConfig.exe (found in your install directory)
2) Click Verify / Repair ...
3) Check Verify Data Integrity
4) Click OK
5) Run ConanPatcher.exe
The short one is:
Solution: To fix this please delete the following files from your install directory:
shader.cache
shader.cache.local
shaders_cache.bin
Try the short one first. If you have to verify repair it takes a longgggg time :P

No luck with either one. The first one (and it was a bit long) didn't do anything (although it did blow away my 1/3 completed 909 Mb download and made me start over). The second one didn't do anything either, and now I'm back in a 774 Mb download. Should I put back the cache files that I saved to a junk folder, or will they be recreated by the program?
Thanks for the advice.

i am getting the same thing, between this and the ridiculous latency spike (permanent 10000 ms) my experience with AOC has been less than favourable, not to mention the support staff don't seem to be able support anything.
They remind me of a balsa wood walking stick being used by an obese man....totally useless, while looking like they do a job sometimes.
EDIT - Niether fix works, WHY ISN'T THERE PHONE SUPPORT??????

+1 Neither of those fixes worked for me, reinstalling the game now.

Reinstalled and updated the game, it worked for a few days and then did the same thing again.
My internet was lightning fast today, so I let it dload the 900mbs, took about 15 minutes and it fixed it... for now.

What finally fixed it for me was copying over the movie files from my wife's AoC directory to my own. I just copied the whole CD_images folder over, and have had no problems since.

what exactly did you copy over? I have a fresh install, thought I would copy the affected files to a thumb and try plugging them in when I catch the glitch.

LDB: (14000:4) or LDB: (14000:7) error message
Setchi post about deleting those shader files does not work. It only ends up messing it up worse, then having to re-download the 900MB patch. The other solution he gave doesnt work either. The Simpleconfig.exe doesnt do anything. I waited for the 10 min to go by while it was checking the files and whatnot, then when it was time to run the conanpatcher.exe nothing happened. It just wants me to waste another 3 hours downloading about 1GB of data. I am going to try to copy over the cd_image folder off the disc 1 and copy it over the existing folder in the directory. I was reading this knocks the patch down to about 200MB but its still doesnt fix getting the LDB: error messages all over the screen.
Also when it did semi-work for about 10 min all I had was music playing and a black screen. Updated all the drivers for the Video card and the processor. just like the customer service said and then then. then I closed it and tried to re-run the game after rebooting the machine and then thats when I got the LDB: error messages.

Careful about the shaders_cache.bin file. I've found that the patcher doesn't always redownload this and caused my game to just not run when I clicked play. I then had to restore that file, and it worked again. It seemed that I could delete the other two without problems, but the .bin file was a stinker.
