There are a lot of places where we mention updates about the game, comment on the game and previews what's coming. While the forums are a good source of information it's not always easy to keep up to speed with the latest information and news, and e know it's not always the easiest to search. Many bits and pieces are available in forum replies from developers or community staff or interviews or external articles on various websites.

With this in mind, we are today launching a new Community Information Database which will be maintained and updated by the community team. The plan is to make important information available there so it can be searched for and hopefully found in an easy manner. Information can be displayed in categories and with an easy search function.

Please note that this new website is in a sort of 'beta stage' right now while we are adding content and are tweaking some parts to make this site as useful for our players as possible. We are also actively seeking for your feedback on this and appreciate your comments in this thread. Tell us what you like about this new site and what you think should be added or changed. We will look into your input and see that we get a hopefully useful tool for you to use.

Layout and color scheme is ok, pretty clean. Will have to see if it gets too 'busy' over time.

Would be nice to see devtracker linked posts from TL and our forums - kind of a one stop shop for all information needed - w/ current issues, awareness, and any updates that might be of use to us. (dont really care to see "ok this thread is being locked"). I am more interested in dev posts.

Would also like to see summary of meetings you guys have, stuff that isnt NDA type - like we get posts saying "We actually had a meeting today and are discussing possible options w/ just this" -- well would be nice to know whats goign on over there at Funcom and AoC's staff , in regards to its future plans.

Granted Community updates are great, and I want to see those continue - id like to see what's going on in between - we do get update posts on forums, those could be posted for example on the devtracker site.

Prioritized lists - for example, the sound being disabled for the game in guild citys - not being a priority , would be nice to see what the prioritys are at the time, and kind of see a list w/ wieght showing most important - to least important things on the table.

Suggestion:

Put in a 'new posts' section so that someone just browsing through can find any new dev posts quickly. I assume that this website is for the Funcom people to post on only, since the players suggestions spot was empty.

If you are going to have player input too, then please add a 'new posts' and 'devtracker' listing, since I'd much rather read dev info than try to find out anything useful from typical forum posts.

It is hard to tell now (since most of it is in progress or empty), but if you could 'flag' folders as unread/read/new things in them that would be great too so we know where to go looking for new stuff. I'd prefer not having to click on every folder to find new items posted.

Looks like a great idea though.
