HELP - What sound are you using?
My problem is combat gets extremely choppy sometimes...even turns into a slideshow sometimes. I have found the problem to be my sound card; an Audigy LS. I can play smoothly with low graphics on my system, IF I turn sound OFF. I actually clicked the checkbox in game to turn off "audio system", whenI was in the volcano night mission. POW, things looked beautifull and NO choppy video at all.
I am currently playing without surround sound and it's give me acceptable performance.
I just want to have the surround sound, and thus, need a new sound card OR a new motherboard with 5.1 surround sound. Hence, my question.
Is there a sound card that does ALL the 3d proccessing on it, cuz' if not, then I will just upgrade to a whole new motherboard, so I can get a dual-core, PCIE slot 4gb system. My problem is, I really should'nt spend the money now, because I'm getting laid off in 2 months.
my system specs are: 2.4 ghz Athlon XP, 1Gb 400mhz RAM, Sapphire x1600 pro 256mb AGP video, and the crappy Audigy LS sound.
