Please don't make in the Age of sprawling houses.
If you must have houses, please instance them like the guild city's.

If they could do it instanced inside player cities some how it would be fine, good place to store stuff I cant bring myself to delete.

Housing is great when it is instanced. When I played EQ2 it was great to have a place to call my own. We had 5 room houses that really gave you a sense of accomplishment for your high level characters.
It's optional and no-one had to get a house that didn't want one.
And by making it instanced, you don't have to clutter the world with anything. If the barracks in guild cities is the access to point to private housing, then nothing needs to be added to the world.
Again, housing is optional and doesn't have to be used unless you want to.

Houses serve several purposes.
1) They are fun.
2) If you have to go AFK but don't want to shut the game down, you don't have to worry about being ganked in your hideout.
3) Helps a lot with RPing.
I'd like to see them in game, but there are a lot of other things that I'd rather seen in game first.

Can be as simple as having apartments in the major cities.

I just want extra space, thats it. I would rather them work on other things like raid/seige bugs then create houses. not saying that I don't want it at all, just saying that they have more important places to spend their time.

I agree with the people that say housing is good instanced. I hated houses in UO and SWG for the fact you couldn't move 2 feet without hitting one.

Only really something I would think that RP'ing weirdos would care about. Bigger storage in the trader and more bags would be more useful to me than some 'house' to leave things.
Basically, to make housing something of interest to the general population, you would need to open up an entire real estate economy which could add a little spice to the game's current non existent economy.
