During Blazing Maw aggro can change, but boss animation is frozen. So actually you could be aggro holder (and thus having cone damage effectively turned to you) even if boss is still facing the tank in another direction.
You can see that if you get the wrack. Move fast.

On Vile invocation boss has damage deflection.
So stop using dots in time.
For example if you place sin bomb just before Vile Invocation, it is going to explode after and you will almost surely die.
Retired nab.. once it was Korando (PvP 10 BS), Andromaeda (PvP 10 Sin), Calore (PvP 10 Demo) and minions...

It's not bugged nor is it front and back. It simply always goes to the aggroholder.
Problem is that it doesn't always turn his body before the cast so if the aggroholder turns right before maw or if the maw comes after eviscerate and someone pulled it off the person that was stunned during eviscerate, the effect makes it look like it is coming out of the bosses front while in fact it is casting on the aggroholder and doing damage in that direction.

It is very predictable. If you make sure both the tanks stand on the same side and are above the rest of the group on aggro. Even when the boss is doing eviscerate and maw right after it will cast on the 2nd tank (that took the aggro while the first tank was stunned) and exactly in the direction you expect it and the effect shows.

Ps. Fix the visual on maw so it always casts in the front of the boss and make it so that people can't run back anymore during this fight and actually have to pay attention.
That sounds exactly like a bug, if you can't rely on visual. I'd expect to get some hit from Blaze Maw + Scorching Wreck, now you get only the wreck without hit. And no, with such screwed boss encounter, it's only right we can run back.

Thanks a lot, guys, for the input. I read Cynara's blog very carefully. Although there is nothing about Blaze Maw going only at an aggro holder no matter where he stands - meaning, you can't avoid it.

By the way, the buggy behavior of Blazing Maw (where the server considers the boss to have turned but our clients don't show him turned in the new direction yet) is no excuse for anybody dying from it. You can survive the first tick of Blazing Maw, and there's more than enough time to run away before the second tick.

Sort of agree, thanks for explanation, still it's no excuse to defend the bug. Just imagine the qq if Chatha in W2 did the same with his cone whatever it is named. Next time, I'll always ask tanks not to try to evade the Maw.

They still need to evade the maw because it does too much damage if you stay in it.You have misunderstood, maw wont follow the tank once it is cast ,it will always start and do damage in the direction where agro holder stands at the time it begins being cast regardless of bugy animation. So make sure a tank has agro and it ll go that way.If it's someone else be quick to evade.Once cast the direction damage is dealt does not change. And yeah it d be nice if its fixed.
