The Barbarian Army swells it's ranks!

We have to say a huge thanks to all of you for the continued success of Age of Conan: Unchained. As revealed in the company's quarterly report today, more than 600,000 players have tested the free-to-play version of Age of Conan since July! As a token of our appreciation for the part you all play in this success, you will find that The King's Reward item will once again be available completely free of charge in the item store, and you can pick up this on one of your characters, anytime before Monday the 21st of November.

3.01 Update

The next technical update to the game is almost upon us. The Dreamworld technology update in 3.01 is another technically challenging and complex update, hence the extended testing period. It will be worth the time investment however as this update lays the important foundations for a lot of exciting things that will improve the game in 3.02 and beyond. It will introduce our new database schemes that will allow us to expand player inventory in the future, increase guild bank space, and perhaps most importantly, lay the groundwork for the single server technology next year that we are really excited about. Likewise it also introduces a lot of network improvements that are aimed at improving the server performance, with a particular focus on situations where there are many players in a smaller space, with the specific focus of improving siege game-play in particular. So we are always really looking forward to having those updates on live, and having these new 'under the hood' updates live.

We now have a stable deployment versions of this update and are planning to release it to the live server in two weeks (week of the 28th of November). It will be deployed on two separate days (as we need additional time due to the complexity of the update), so the EU and US dimensions will be done one after the other during that week.

Then the start of the 3.02 series should follow relatively quickly (within a matter of weeks) with the House of Crom free premium content being the first update on the Agenda. The team are currently polishing up the final gameplay in the various dungeons involved and testing is in full swing. We can't wait to get the House of Crom out there to you all, after all, it has been on the drawing board for quite some time!
