I hang out in KK a lot (like 90% of my time, waiting for minis to pop) and I see people doing Jiang Shi quest like suckers.

i usually pass from behind the buildings and, since i normally also have the bones quest from sc, i kill the 2 mobs after the bridge...
but it's not like it's making such a big difference...

I do it the same way on rogues only. With hoxes it's just to slow in hide and it drains energy fast. I just hide to get through the gard then do it killing the mobs, and gathering their bones for the quest most of the time.
