Unable to connect with Facebook

Time has come to finally get around and test that much-talked about social media integration that was hailed in a GM letter from a long, long time ago.

One slight issue hinders me from giving my seal of approval: The thing does not work.

The routine:
Settings -> Social networks -> Connect to Facebook

The result:
A white rectangular window appears very briefly (for less than a second) and then vanishes again.

I've tried several times for the last couple of days now, and I've tested from three different entry points (opened the settings while logged in with a character, from the settings on the character selection page, and from the settings option available on the login screen)).

No dice. What gives?

Heh, I have always wondered what the Facebook integration would do, but never tried it out and never heard of someone using it. Wouldn't surprise me if it has been broken a long time now.

What's your default browser? I think it only works if IE is set.

Last time I checked this worked (pre merge)
It's kinda handy if you're the type that posts screenshots on facebook.

Thanks for the suggestion, but setting IE as default browser did not bring me anywhere nearer a solution. Same result. So I swiftly switched back to good old trusty Firefox. Now off to do some thinking. Could be numerous causes, including any of the patches introduced during the last months. I'll see if I manage to sort something out. I'll update here if succcessful.

Check all Facebook privacy settings and allowed browsers in it.
