Default What kind of Vid Card AGP or PCI?

How can I tell which kind of vid card my mobo supports?

I was looking inside the case and the one I have currently is a nVidia 6800 256. Which is probably why I have such crappy fps.

The video card is plugged into a black slot on the mobo if that helps. So is that an AGP or PCI?

Sounds like AGP....the newer MB's mostly only have PCI express (which is what you want)

Default your card

to find out for sure what slot go to control panel, printers/other hardware, System, device manager, display adapters, then your vid card.

it will tell you what slot it is in without guessing....

hope that helps!

And PCI express (aka PCI-x) may not be on your mobo if you are running an AGP card.

Default

So it says
Nvidia GeForce 6800 Series GPU
Location: PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0

So that means it's a PCI card?

Sorry but I'm still pretty new at this.

Probably AGP. Run CPU-Z to find out more about your system.
