One of poms strengths is controlled aoe burst with the combo, and decent aoe dots. which is something laethiel absolutely missed in his post. Look at aett's post.
PoM probably is stronger because:
innate bubble + higher mitigations + instant bigheal(when specced), risky investment to try kill
stronger AoE CCs + good single target CCs, so even if tos has the strongest single target CCs in the game, the teamfight capabilites of a pom will be better.
if class composition and teamplay allows it, tos surely will be a beast that can supply an insane stream of damage, but a tos can be adressed more easily is the common theme.

Let's just be real here for a minute. Aside from all the ups and downs between both classes I think it got summed up well enough. Pom is more forgiving for new players. tos is a rough start but shines later on.
@OP, If you want an opinion i'll offer mine up. Tos is just more fun overall.
