    I'd probably go to Khopshef since it is the setting which best fits a HoX. That said, Wild Lands and Conall's probably offer more spectacular vistas.

    In any case, don't miss:

    * looking for a group for Black Castle (in Khopshef) when you're in your early 30s;
    * Pyramid of the Ancients (solo dungeon in Khopshef) once you're level 37.

    This is what I did when leveling my HoX. Khopshef Province just felt like the proper place to level, though without XP pots you will have to visit other areas.

    Funcom

    Thank you all for the advice!

    I'm not looking to power level (since.. well..I work at Funcom...)

    I am looking for the best places to see, and enjoy as a PvE'er.

    Connall's Valley looks nice- but also looks like it's beyond a 20. (just a bit)

    Khopshef probably will be better for a lowbie. Bubshur House, and then if I can level decently, either Black Castle or over to Connall's.

    Hmmmmm...

    Connalls valley, Wildlands of Zelata, Gateway to Khitai are all for lvl 20 toons. They are the starter regions for the different races.
    Hamsters and rangers and everyone, REJOICE!

    Hearing this made me feel very happy because it sounds like you are playing the game and leveling a HoX! \o/ Good for you! ...and us!
    I can't think of a better way to get to know the game and what areas need attention than to play the game.
    The Lore is what draws me to areas in the game. If you haven't read any of Robert E Howards works, I would highly encourage you to do so. Any of the starter areas, except Gateway to Khiati, are heavily laced with REH Lore. Generally, you want to be banging away on mobs 2-6 levels higher than you. But it never hurts to complete quests killing low level stuff, for the quest xp.
    -Cheers.

    Agreed. Read ALL of the Howard Conan stories. They aren't long and you'll appreciate the game so much more after reading them. Like the game or not, Funcom took great care to stay true to the spirit of Howard's stories. While Khitai was never really explored in the stories, the expansion does a good job filling in the gaps. Also, pro choice on the HoX. That class is truly one of the best ways to experience all AoC has to offer while leveling.

    Conall's Valley is 20 -> 30
    Khopshef is 20 -> 36
    Zelata is 20 -> 40
    Gateway is 20 -> 40
    Short cuts make long delays.

    Personally Wild Lands are my favourite. Theres an atmosphere of a trully anciend land,that unrevell its mysteries slowly, like a misty morning after a cold night. Theres the sense of the neverending human conflict with the the aquilonia/nemedia struggle while something deeper and darker rises from below at the archeronian ruins. I can grasp and ReH's low fantasy setting the most around that zone.

    That said, each region is fantastic and fun for leveling up. I used to avoid connals valley cuz i coild never complete the higher level group quests and it just annoyed me a bit, but if you venture far enough you can see the giant arceronian (or some other culture?) gates carved into the mountains, with a vast beautiful nordic landscape to explore.
    The same with kopshef province an its mediterranean, north african feel. You can battle,through hidden oasis, empty deserts and ancient piramids. Those old sands are home to savage exotic beasts and guard a dormant powerful magic that could consume the very soul of a mere mortal with the blink of an eye.
    Ah, this game is so amazing in these little carefully designed sceneries. So much potential..

    I recommend Gateway to Khitai. It is beautiful zone, especially the great wall, quests are generally better and very nicely grouped in different small areas-if I remember correctly all lvl 20-25 quests are in destroyed caravan/hyrkanian camp area, all lvl25-30 are in hills/zang xin area, lvl 30-35 quests are again in a different relatively small area so you don`t need to run across entire map to hand in quest. Near the wall there are representatives of different factions from beyond the wall, their quests are the best and very nice introduction to Khitai story, and we get expertise points as reward!
    Armor from Gateway/quest rewards looks much better than old world low level armor and it is possible to complete sets, but weapons from quests are generally worse than what you get from old world quests at same level.

    Gateway is definitely the most efficient place to level. If you don't care about Conan lore and just want to level up it's the best place.
