The update process did not complete successfully

After today's server down time - the game updates 17mb and then say under the "START" button - "The update process did not complete successfully".
The same thing happens with my other computer and my husband's computer.
Anyone know what is happening.

The same thing happen to me today!!! tried couple of things, cloud not fix it.

Worked fine for me. Restart your computer.

I have turned off the Fire Wall, manually started the patcher, restarted computer and router and still cant get back in the game. We have 4 computers that run AOC and all have the same problem. We have no internet issues.

What happens if you click start?

Yes restarted it twice, shut down all 4 computers numerous time. Have resorted to using the "Option" - "Repair Broken Data" - on one of the computers - It says it will take several minutes and it has been running for over 40 mins and still no update. Have checked with internet provide - there are no know issues. My husband is a PC Tech and we have scanned all the computer for any PC issues - which there are none.

I could understand one of the four computers not updating but not all four. We live in Australia - Could this be the issue ?

When we click start the loading screen disappears and nothing happens.

Probably internet issue. Try cell phone tether internet?

Honestly, ISP will never admit theres a problem, most of them don't have a clue. Only thing you can do test with something else because all 4 computers are connected to the same internet, and theres no reason for 4 computers to not work.

Restarted for the 5th time - and this time it down loaded the patcher and is updating local files on only 1 of the 4 computers. Fingers Crossed it works this time.
