Default [Forum Event] Epic Tales of Uncertainty 2.0 Part 4!

Many of you may remember old school books that you could read, that let you choose the path in which your character would progress. Much like those stories, we wanted to bring you our own spin on these.

Welcome to Epic Tales of Uncertainty!

Each week, until your adventure is concluded, you- the forums- will choose the path for your character. A poll will be made (see above) that will give you choices- choices which can lead to riches, fun, and yes- even death. The rules are simple:

    • Vote.
    • This is a for "fun" forum game.
    • You may reply here to try and sway your fellow forum go-ers, keeping in mind our lovely Social Guidelines.
    • You may speculate as to how the decision will impact your character
    • You could even go so far as to think how many weeks your character will live
    • Winning consists of choosing the right choice that leads the character to a "happy ending."
    • Every vote will have 4 choices
    • The ones who vote for the winning choice (each week) will be awarded a new forum title of "Uncertainly Epic"

With the rules clearly stated, we now begin our tale:

Part one of our tale can be found here!
Part two of our tale can be found here!
Part three of our tale can be found here!

Despite knowing that you'd be safe to climb down the tree, you feel that jumping to the other tree would be a good idea. Your poor judgement is probably due to being dizzy, as well as not being the most intelligent of Assassins. You knew you could see the caravan from where you were, and knew that the large men were heading your way. Rather than confront them head on, you chose to leap "all nimbly-bimbly" from tree to tree like you were a cat. Unfortunately for you, jumping is not your strongest ability. In fact, jumping to the other tree was possibly the worst thing you could do. Even so, you ready yourself to jump- taking a grip on the tree and readying your feet. Curled up like a cobra ready to strike, you attempt to jump.

For a total of .14 milliseconds, you are technically flying.

However, because you were so dizzy, and because you wanted to be an acrobat instead of an assassin, you started to fall.

Your feet left the tree you were on, and you reach out to the nearby tree. You try in vain to grab at a leaf, a branch, or anything that can stop your downward trajectory. It doesn't matter, as you look down and see that pointy rock that you noticed earlier. "This is gonna hurt" you say to yourself.

    You were right.

As you are impaled by the rock, your intestines burst, gushing out of your body like a waterfall. Your stomach is pierced, allowing the acid in it to seep out and dissolve parts of your skin. Your left arm is ripped from you, like a war horse trampling an overly ripe tomato. You hope that you die soon, but are given no relief. The large men happen upon you, and laugh at your situation. They consider you not to be a threat, and despite your asking for the sweet release of death, nobody gives you your wish.

Time passes. You aren't sure how long. Night turns into day, and the pain you are in is excruciating. Your heart continues to beat as a pack of wolves happen upon your body. The pack take turns fighting over your entrails, and one takes your right arm off. You didn't even fight back, as you just wanted this to be over. Guttural sounds emerge from your throat, as a nearby hawk circles above. The noon sun is high, baking your crispy flesh. The hawk swoops down, and nibbles at your ears and eyes before having his fill, and marking you with some disgusting brown fluid. The smell is awful, and you try to hold your breath, hoping to die.

The last thing you remember is a passing Necromancer, who was very interested in your body.

    THE END

I guess for future tales we should always assume that whatever happens, the Main character is a clumsy char I like that, it's fun and adds some chaos to the whole thing

    its well written!

but im kinda sad again... feels like the outcome is allready set in stone and we only determine the how not when or if altough that specific choice was really obvious xD

    There are 4 outcomes.

In the latter votes, more and more of them lead to death. Playing as the character usually leads to things going well, but reading the subtle hints also help
