Thread: [Forum Event] Epic Tales of Uncertainty 2.0 Part 2!

Default [Forum Event] Epic Tales of Uncertainty 2.0 Part 2!

Many of you may remember old school books that you could read, that let you choose the path in which your character would progress. Much like those stories, we wanted to bring you our own spin on these.

Welcome to Epic Tales of Uncertainty!

Each week, until your adventure is concluded, you- the forums- will choose the path for your character. A poll will be made (see above) that will give you choices- choices which can lead to riches, fun, and yes- even death. The rules are simple:

    • Vote.
    • This is a for "fun" forum game.
    • You may reply here to try and sway your fellow forum go-ers, keeping in mind our lovely Social Guidelines.
    • You may speculate as to how the decision will impact your character
    • You could even go so far as to think how many weeks your character will live
    • Winning consists of choosing the right choice that leads the character to a "happy ending."
    • Every vote will have 4 choices
    • The ones who vote for the winning choice (each week) will be awarded a new forum title of "Uncertainly Epic"

With the rules clearly stated, we now begin our tale:

Part one of our tale can be found here!

You take in your surroundings. Your vision sharpens a bit, as you become more keen to where and what is going on. You remember that for years, you trained your mind to adapt to any situation, and to notice the extraordinary. Your brain is still a bit fuzzy. It may have been sleeping against that tree all night, or it could be that strange ale that you drank the other day. Whatever the cause, the effect is certainly noticeable. Your ears are ringing, so0 your hearing is not as impeccable as it usually is. Though your vision is better, it is not as good as it once was. You feel that with time, you will be able to regain your senses.

Taking stock of your surroundings, you see the tree which gave you shelter last night, perfect for scaling. This would give you an eagle-eye view as to what is going on around you, and limits your exposure. There is a chance that you could fall from that height, but you feel it may be worth a risk.

You remember your satchel, and see in it a sealed envelope. It could be a target, or a recipe for cured boar jerky. You're not sure, as your memory is still a bit fuzzy. Opening it could be good, but then again, maybe you were supposed to deliver this unopened to someone? You hate that your memory is so bad right now.

You decide that action is could be better than just sitting here, and that you could go to the action- and creep up on the voices you heard earlier. You know there are more than 5 men, but you have taken out that many easily before- especially when you had the upper hand. You have some tools that you found lying around, a dagger with a decisively green tip, some arrows that have good fletching on them, and a bunch of rocks.

You contemplate, for a moment, the killing that you have done in your life and think about what your life would be like if you chose to leave this lifestyle behind you. Though you really love your attunement to the world, there is something to be said of being more in tune with nature.

There is an urgency to your mind. You know that your next choice needs to be made with some haste. If you stay where you are, you could be discovered.

So weapons in hand, a multitude of unknown people heading our way, and we want to stop and read a note? Not knowing where I was in this situation I'd elect for the high ground when most definitely outnumbered, having ranged weapons to use against any possible foes. This also allows for a better vantage to scope the area from, and also maybe a hiding place? Once out of immediate danger I'd consider anything in my inventory...

Also: BearShamans are peaceful eh? Who'd have known?

Sure, why not? I mean literature is filled with battlesome priests (-classes),
just think of Brother Tuck or Don Camillo, hehe.
Omg, hope some of the people reading this have ever heard of that names .

Gone for the bear shaman thing, of course .

Well if I had to pick a priest class to most likely have the opposite of a violent past I'd pick the POM. I mean after all Bears need to hit something to even use one of their heals properly, whats more violent than that? Of course it's possible I missed the irony somewhere in that choice.

BTW not knocking any classes, so don't feel like ya got to come to the rescue/defense of anyone.

And yes Hawkeye I am edumacated enough to have heard of those names before, along with a host of other pious individuals from literature. Still it stands to reason in my mind that Shamans are anything but non-violent.

Apparently, people don't remember what happened the last time they were a Bear Shammy.
