Question Just dinged into lvl 80, but...

... now i wonder what AA's are a "MUST Have" for a ToS?
I know "Steadfast Faith" and "Celsetial something" are needed
for Khitai, but what else would you guys recommend?

    Thx in advance

Short answer: Of the class perks, get Coils of the Serpent first, it's amazing. Dark Idol is also a priority and expected in some encounters, although you need some heal rating on your gear (which you get on Khitai gear and later) for it to really shine.

Long answer: Check out the stickies, they go into more detail about AA, builds, rotations and even items.

Coils is very good for damage, but the idol is even with no healrating gear amazing, it heals nearly as much HP as a burst without any healerating gear (or even the same amount of HP burst). With Yag-Kosha epic gear you can burst a whole raid pretty good, which saves sometimes a few nearly-dead members. The only problem is that those people have to stand in close area to the Idol itself (Range is alnost 3/4 of the spell "Curse of Set")

You have to decide which you want to get first, Idol for solo healing in groups or Coils for better damage.

The OP asked for must haves... not the nice haves... ok MUST HAVE steadfast faith. You MUST HAVE IT for many 6 mans and some higher end raids. As a new 80 i would then start working on the protection AAs. If you do t3 you want the holy. If you do solo dungeons then fire. Really the 1st point in your protections are only 18 hr train times so in a week you can have 1 point in each. That should be your 1st thing to do. Just because its so quick. You can work on Chromatic warding as well. You will want 2 or 3 in chromatic early on just for some added protection and you can fill the rest out later. You will max all your protections eventually.
You may want to have 2 or 3 in elusive nature by the time you start running around in paking doing quests. Mobs crit alot there. Actually mobs in khitai in general crit alot, but paking is worse. Once you feel your not dying too much then work on celestial gaze, coils, and dark idol. Maybe coils before gaze. Just depends if you want another heal or more dps. Id leave dark idol to the last.
The next must have is improved storm field and improved charged blast. If you group alot you might want to work on prelate of arms just to help out the group.
Thats about it for the "must haves"

You're bloody clueless if you think a tos should start putting points into protections or critigation before Coils or Dark Idol.

To be honest, for me protection and critigation (or those +1% Damage on Stormfield) as ToS are only some "nice to have things"... I would only train them if you really need them, a ToS that just got onto level 80 don't need those feats, they are just mostly unused because he don't have to tank a boss (or something like that), it just helps a bit but the points are better invested if you spend them into Idol or Coils.

If you feated Protection = Boss in reliquiary of flame will do with his fire AoE in combat instead of 1550 only 1530 Damage, mostly useless for the group (only if you are lucky and would survive from those 20 Life ;P )

If you feated Idol it means more burst healing = The whole group will benefit from that, because the tank will survive and the group won't wipe.

If you feated Coils it means more Dmg = Your group won't wipe in Enrage encounters and you won't wipe because of a lack of damage.

First priority should be those AAs AFTER you got atleast "Steadfast Faith", the OP pointed out that he already have "Celestial Gaze" and "Steadfast Faith" which are needed in HM Dungeons, so his next feats should be Coils and / or the Idol.

As I said, the protection ones , "Prelate of Arms" or Stormfield Damage modifier are NOT USELESS, they are at the beginning for a fresh level 80 a NICE TO HAVE but NOT NECESSARY, Coils or Idol are more useful in most cases, if you got most necessary AAs in your AA-Tree (which can be pretty fast) you should start training protection or "Prelate of Arms".

What you really need are: decisive strikes, pressing strikes, steadfast faith and maxed out reduction on charged blast recast asap, coils of the serpent. Optional are celestial gaze and idol if u get some HR on ur gear. Damage or protection perks you can put 1-2 points, but focus on those perks listed 1st.

Decisive and pressing strikes are the first must haves.
i also put one point in the protection AA's. (1 point = 90 prot)
Then I get the dark idol and steadfast faith.
Then cel. gaze, empowered mending, elarged lifeforce, Empowered storm nimbus, empowered storm field.....

Many good answers, but I will make a post anyway.

The top three rows of your AA tree is a general tree that is similar on all classes. You need to put some points here before you can go to the archetype AA's, and further down to the class specific AA's.

The more ranks you put into an AA, the more of your Expertise points gets used.

General AA's that is needed: Decisive and Pressing Strikes. Buy two ranks in each and put one rank in something that cost one Expertise, like one of the wards for example.

General AA's that is nice to have (read: use time training to get these): Wards, Fortifying Empowerment (tos has low hp, any buff is good), Elusive Nature.

Archetype AA's that is needed: Steadfast Faith. This is ultra important for sixmen PvE groups and any healer absolutely must have it when joining a run where it is needed.

Archetype AA's that is nice to have (read: use time training to get these): Celestial Gaze (you need some heal rating gear for it to be worthwhile the mana consumption), Empowered Mending, Prelate at Arms, Enlarged Lifeforce, Invigoration and Imbuement.

Class AA's that is needed: None. You can do quite fine without both Idol of Dark Rejuvenation and Coils of the Serpent.

Class AA's that is nice to have (read: use time training to get these): Coils of the Serpent (channeling damage spell, scales with magic damage), Idol of Dark Rejuvenation (AoE healing, scales with Heal Rating), Improved Charged Blast, Set's Vitality, and then every other buff to your spells.

Since tos have lowest amount of HP, don't forget to train passive AA what give you 540 HP
