Default [Forum Event] Epic Tales of Uncertainty Part 2

Many of you may remember old school books that you could read, that let you choose the path in which your character would progress. Much like those stories, we wanted to bring you our own spin on these.

Welcome to Epic Tales of Uncertainty!

Each week, until your adventure is concluded, you- the forums- will choose the path for your character. A poll will be made (see above) that will give you choices- choices which can lead to riches, fun, and yes- even death. The rules are simple:

    • Vote.
    • This is a for "fun" forum game.
    • You may reply here to try and sway your fellow forum go-ers, keeping in mind our lovely Social Guidelines.
    • You may speculate as to how the decision will impact your character
    • You could even go so far as to think how many weeks your character will live
    • Winning consists of choosing the right choice that leads the character to a "happy ending."
    • Every vote will have 4 choices
    • The ones who vote for the winning choice (each week) will be awarded a new forum title of "Uncertainly Epic"

With the rules clearly stated, we now begin our tale:

Part one of the tale is here.

You shake your head, trying to relieve some of your drowsiness. You remember leaving your tribe, and the looks given to you by the elders. You were "one of them." You look up at the sky and see a hawk flying northeast, crying as it goes along. You feel a strange pull in that direction, and you decide to follow it. You gather your items from the ground, and walk northeast, following both the hawk and the sound of running water. The sun begins to beat down on you, the heat of it warming your skin that is exposed.

"A pelt should do," you say to yourself, as you take a large pelt from your satchel. It has been fashioned out of a wolf, and has a hood-like pouch on its top. Though the pelt is warm, it shields you from the constant rays of the sun, and makes it easier to see. You look up again, and see your friend the hawk, perched in a nearby palm tree. A boat, washed ashore many years ago, is nearby. The oars are roughly hewn from palm fronds and reeds. Though it is old and rickety, you feel it is seaworthy. Before you is a great expanse of water. "This must be what the elders called White Sands." The blue in the sky is only matched by the water's color, with the sand clearly shining up from below the water's depths. You see some fish floating by the shallows, and feel as if Dian Cecht is guiding you to go further. You decide to arm yourself with appropriate gear, using palm fronds and reeds nearby to make a net. You load up the boat, and shove off, coasting on the boat's own propulsion for a few moments before you decide what to do next.

    What should you do next?

A lot of you think that the wind is going to help you decide what to do next.

    Will it?

Or is more decisive action worth taking?

Nope, listening to the wind is cool...afterwards I may go tan a little on the beach, then go home to my wife, cook dinner, and hit the grog. Who knows what tomorrow may bring.

Am I completely out of my mind or is there no reference to the alcove we could explore in either part one or two?
    I don't make points I make dents.

No, it's not mentioned directly. The alcove has a large central sandbar, easily visible from where you are. It does not have any trees growing, and the sand looks as if it has been still for quite some time.
