Thread: No gd letter today?

Imo they should stop delaying the GD letter for translation reasons, since they deleted localized servers anyway and localized forums are also deader than dead. It does not even have a sense since translated patchnotes are now delayed (last time we had french patchnotes about wb changes 4 days after the wb week was over) and almost no one read thems.

I'd trade the translation team for a dedicated AoC dev! But then, they probably still use those guys on other games and assignments too.

    Labor Day. USA Holiday.

It must be fun to be a Funcom employee though. How many days out of the year do they actually work if you take out weekends, their mandatory 3-4 weeks vacation in July, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and other holidays..

I'd imagine it will be released next week due to translation - I think you'll like what it covers!
Shouldn't it be written earlier so translation is done by the end of the month?

you ******* expect logical thinking ?

and btw , why the hell does it take so long to translate this letter ? If one speaks the language it can be translated from english to german (for example) in less than 30 minutes . There are just 3 forums , english , german and francophone and i asssume that english is the language the letter is written

Wait, we get vacation in July that's mandatory?

Gee, it felt like I was here the whole time.....

The reason it takes a while for the translation is because it isn't as simple as google translating a document. As those of you who speak different languages know, and have pointed out, there are certain grammar rules, things that should not be said because of strange context, etc. Keep in mind that this is also corporate communication, not "my buddy Frank's letter from Glendale."

We want to make sure that what we are saying is said appropriately to the right audience. Please also keep in mind that just because YOU visit the forums (and we love that you do!), that not everyone DOES. This is why the Game Director letter goes on the website.

So, let's all take a break for a moment and settle down. Nusquam will have it ready when it is ready, and not before then.

Translating few sentences about game to german and french is not rocket science. You are not translating ancient hebrew to latin so I see no point in trying to make it seem like a tough job.

Basically your whole post comes down to "will have it ready when it is ready" which, seeing as it seems both rude to paid customers and sezmra already wrote that (in much kinder way I might add), I am suprised that you bothered to write that reply at all.
