Thread: What happened to Feats?

    Default What happened to Feats?

I'm a returning player who's been gone a long time. Coming back in I started a new character to get used to the interf again. I also have several 80's characters. I looked at them a could not bring up their feat build. I went though each hitting feats and got nothing.

Has a change happen? Do I have to reset them some how? Were they removed? I just hit 20 on my new character their feats is blank also.

Are you unable to open the feats by hitting hotkey N by default?
Or is it opening up but the window is empty?

Are you using a customised ui or the default one? If you're using customised then check with default. You can easily do this by creating a new folder and name it customised. You rename your old customised to anything you want. This makes it very easy to switch as you'll just rename the folders.

I could give you a line you type in game to bring it up but I'm on my phone so i can't check which one it is.

There are a couple of things that could be happening here.

First is: A couple of years ago, Funcom introduced the ability to have multiple feat specializations on a single toon that we can switch between. Funcom also introduced a new layout for three branches of the feat trees. When these were implemented it meant the custom user interfaces that we used eg Stonerune, had to be updated to accommodate this change. If you can not open the feat builds at all (either by the default 'n' key or clicking on icon at top of screen), then it is likely you are using a custom user interface that has not been adjusted for the new multi-specialisation feature.... have a look in the forum section: UI and Mod customization for a more up-to-date version of your custom UI.

Secondly: Several of the classes have had feat revamps over the years. When this occurred the current feat builds were wiped clean. So if you can open the feat specializations but they no longer have any points assigned then this is what has occurred.

If you can open the feat specialization window then you will see that one of the tabs does not contain a feat tree but a help tab explaining some aspects of the multi-feat specialisations eg cooldowns and the new import/export buttons.

Thanks, I'm also at work and will try these once I get home. As for ui I also use Stonerune, but its the same version as when I left. Went to the ui forum and will check what I have against the last updated one.

There you have the problem. When they implemented multi feats they overhauled the ui for it. There should be a newer version of stonerune that will solve this issue.

RE: Stonerune - it is up to version 2.4.5 and does support the multiple feat specializations.
The author created a forum post with links to the drop boxes he put the Stonerune zip file and installer into after the website that used to have them discontinued support for AoC.

You all had it right. Got home, installed the latest version of Stonerune, went in and hit 'N' and feats popped right up. Thank you all for your help with this.
