After running patcher the game fails to start, I get that error message all the time. Any ideas how to fix that?

Not heard of that error before, but you could try deleting shader.cache and shader.cache.dx10 in the root folder.

I deleted everything with 'Shader', it worked. Thank you!
I have no idea what caused this problem but I have updated NVidia GeForce Experience yesterday (it doesn't recognize AoC tho :P ).

The new drivers probably screwed around the shader cache for AoC or something like that.

You should use AoC Quickstart - it has a setting that automatically does that.
