    Default Email-notification to thread-updates

    After coming back to AoC and reactivating my account about 2 months ago after almost a year away, I seem to be unable to receive forum-thread update notifications. I've checked the most obvious things (correct email-account in profile, correct notification-settings on the boards, spamfilter-settings on my emailaccount and mailclient etc), but no go.

    The only change is that I switched from a gmail.com-address to an outlook.com-address.

    Anyone else had the same issue?

    I had a problem not beeing able to post in premium threads. I've contacted support and it was solved after a few days of wait. You tryed contact them about this ?

    I assume that you DID receive notices via your Gmail account, prior to switching to Outlook? If you haven't found anything in spam/trash etc, some further investigation may be required.

    This is an issue they quietly ignore as it seems to effect only a few people. I used to receive thread update emails all the time, then one day they just stopped. I hadn't changed anything, all my settings were fine. I tried using different email addresses (hotmail, gmail, yahoo, as well as a custom email provider) but none of them would work.

    I should note PM emails, as well as the birthday emails still come in just fine. Support ticket emails work too. But any thread update email I will never receive.

    I've sent in multiple tickets over the years about the issue, but they never can do anything about it. To me it seems like they either think I'm just doing it wrong or they don't want to deal with an odd problem that doesn't effect everyone.

    Edit: It may have been the testlive emails that stopped first, it is hard to remember.

    Heh, I apparently wasn't remembering things exactly.

    I went back to look for specific dates when email stopped.

    Testlive stopped on 11/24/2011
    Live stopped on 3/5/2013 (when the forums merged)
    TSW stopped on 10/11/2012

    Yup, I did But not after reactivating my account, which is why I made the transfer to my outlook.com-account.

    Will plop on my Sherlock-hat and keep looking for a solution, and post here if I find one

    Hmm, someone send me a PM so that I can check if that works.

    Edit: Yep, strange. Got a PM from Tapwater and a notification about it, but not forum-thread updates. Oh well.

    Come to think of it, this happened only after the forum-merge. Might be something there. Before the merge I had a US-account, since I'm silly like that.

    My problems started before the forum merge, though I wouldn't be surprised if that could also have something to do with it.

    Edit:
    I have a bad memory, edited my above post.

    I now think that forum merge may be exactly the culprit.
    My account was always a US account too.
