For me it worked like this:
Search in your userprofile of your system c:\user\%username%\AppData\Local\Funcom\Conan\Pref \
and delete the folders of the account in which the chars are stored that cause problems. Start Aoc and log in.
It works for me. I guess it was the full ignorelist of my mainchar that caused timeout.
Sadly Funcom wasnt able to help with that nor did they ever response on support request.

They don' care about anything, there is no one working here at anytime, only thing there is moderators on forums who are deleting our posts if we say something "wrong or trolling"
It is **** if captain and crew is abandoning ship before passengers... in aoc' captain is the first one who jump out
