demo has worst tradeoff from sw im afraid all other classes seem to fair better.
but your perspective is very off despite a bit more negative efects to demos sw it still efficiently boosts your dps as intended, you might need some tips from an experienced demo or something but personaly i use sw almost every boss fight in raids on my demo, i dont play it often enough(dull class for me), but i see in every pve circumstance demos sw all the time and doing quite good.
in pvp i only see good demos sw in sieges; in minigame and open world no one that does it.

Well, getting tips is why I posted my own experience with it. I know it's only my own gameplay and others may have discovered how to use it effectively. Since the OP wanted a guide to SWing, seemed getting tips on it is along the same lines.

well each class has some unique sw buffs and each class has its own optimized way to rotate sw buffs and class abilities to profite the most from the sw buffs, at some point he asked for pom sw tips.
a couple at least are cross shared like arcane surge, arcane renewal.
while some negative debuffs are cross shared like frailty & ether drain, other negative and positive buffs are unique to each class like necro gets infestation dot, demos get demon payment, pom shunned by mitra, tos twisted rune of set.

like when necro gets a stack 3 of infestation he will need to use lifestrike a bit more often maybe, when demo gets demon payment its good idea to try and use some ability to gain mana like circle of magic or archfiend pact if mana is too low
tos might need to use storm blood or power of serpent ring if twisted rune is at stack 2-3 and health is low.

each class is diferent i guess opener is just a new player trying to figure out some stuff given his questions and his other recent post are a bit vague.

Always use spell weaving on minigame when you can, it is easy to destroy all enemies when they are locked in pinpoint

Spellweaving with Demonoligist. Added pictures of the buffs.

In general there is only one thing to worry about and that is Demonic Payment. Do not ever go up spellweaving in combat if you have below 75% health and no dedicated healer to you. Demonic Payment removes all your mana and then starts eating your health, until you get back up above 75% health. Pictures attached.

when u enter sw u get the sw buff whith a countdown when this countdown reaches 0 u will go one stack higher and get to choose a buff and u get a random debuff

additional to that all offensive spells (pre khitai) have a chance to proc a random "level up" of sw stack and therefor to choose a buff

2 other things to consider:
while u can choose a buff u can "level up" again but u wont notice since u can still only choose one buff BUT u will get the 2 debuffs (and the higher stack obviously)

while stack 6 is max for all additional effects the +base spell dmg buff goes up to stack 24


for pve purposes only u will improve your general performance by staying sw as much as possible (keep in mind when u need to move u cant go sw )

Added chance on hit effect: Spellweaving on self
6 proc per minute on Cleansing fire, condemnation, Lance, Litany, Rebuke, Smite/14% on MSE.

SW'ing isn't just about when it's available and HW often it's used ~ you can see from Zoeri's images that SW gives you some great boosts in DPS and ability/spell procs, BUT it's what you do during those boosts.

For instance ~ you may use it solely for DPS in T1 fights but T2 you'll need to use the knockbacks and various other perks from it.

It's definitely worth using in PvE once you get the hang of knowing when it's appropriate and learn to not pull aggro from the tanks.
