    Another funny thread...

It's okay to think about encounter mechanics that favour guards over DTs. Different encounters should have different tanking requirements.

In fact, there are plenty of ways of doing this (short dps windows which don't allow DTs to retain VoM stacks, proper magic mitigation, etc etc).

But if the only idea you come up with completely excludes what arguably is the one class that usually gets short shrift anyway, while being one of the most fun classes in the game, you clearly have an inadequate understanding of game mechanics.

And yes, I am talking about HoX.

Now how about your "balanced setup"?

I've been through and cleaned up this thread, whether or not you agree with the OP doesn't matter so long as you can convey your point without resorting flaming and trolling.

T3.5 does need a slight nerf. It needs changes to make it more fun more than anything else though.

T4 does not need a nerf at all. There are a few bug fixes needed but nerfs? No.

Before adding new tier raids, they have to implement pvp patches..most pvpers r transfering their mains to pve servers to get their items..

This Game needs so many things at pvp Side..honor System, open World dueling arenas, new minigame maps, Player statics on minigames..

Rebalance pvp weapons with pve stuff..give pvp players what they want..check out The old mmo Games,uo,wow,ko..ppl r still playing these Games because of pvp Side..

Aoc has the Best combat System..dont waste it and make some progression at pvp Side..pve Side is Fine For now..

Pvp,crafting and pve u need to focus in turn..

Comeon. PvP is long dead. With server location change even more so for the EU players. What about the minigame group/signup-bugs ongoing for soon to be years. It shows very well how Funcom feel about PvP

Yes, AoC pvp had the potential etc. etc. but it's over. Grab onto what joy there is left here, the PvE, and make it better.

Even if they manage to put together unchained pvp without gear imbalance, update some of the systems, incentives, it's too late. And in vain for EU players.

I don't agree with all of OPs examples in how to do it (tanks dying in 3 shots is not the way to make something hard), but in a way Im with him. Make it so hard, every class and player has to perform to the max to be able to do it.
Give us harder raids and exciting dungeons with real challenges/mysteries/hardmodes. Veterans will stay, newbies will have something to strive for.

Big fan of end game progression but it seems what makes an mmo successful is making it reasonable to gear up. The amount of time to gear up in the first two tiers was about right in my opinion. I personally know guilds who have disbanded and left the game because they couldn't get enough dedicated folks to do T4. As it is right now many average players haven't even been to T3 or T4 so releasing T5 is like a slap in the face to most.

What? Who are these "average players"?

Most of the large guilds on Set are already doing T4, and most of those have it on farm. Almost everyone can get in a T3 raid, and a huge % of the population is doing T4.

If someone can't do T3/T4, then it is no ones fault but their own. T3 is hardly uber difficult, and there are several T3 pugs a week on Set. Rogue Angels is proposing doing a pug T4, and the 1st 3 bosses are certainly puggable.

There are several guilds doing T4 on Set now. If a person isn't doing T3/4, it's because they aren't willing to invest a little time to learn how to play their class and show up for their guilds raids until they get a spot.

So if not T5, why? People who haven't played T3 or T4 extensively already have a wealth of content they haven't touched. What do you propose? Another T1 or T2 raid for Steam players who haven't already done all the raids a thousand times? Prettier versions of the villas? A newer, sexier version of island of iron statues?

No, the slap in the face would be to the games veterans if the new raid is anything less than T4. If there isn't new content for veterans, in other words the people who make up the bulk of subscribers, they'll drift away to new games while you'd be left with all the F2Pers doing kyliki and yahkmar 3 times a week. Oh and the uber new T1 raid you're hoping for.

I agree.. Anything less than T4 will just push all the vets away.. And then the game will really die. Not having higher end raiding tears is akin to not having anything for the pvp'ers to do. Most of the pvp'ers already left, if Cetriss is not T4/T4.5/T5 most if not all of the raider will go also.
