Thread: T5 Raid: It's coming.

    Default T5 Raid: It's coming.

This is a petition to make the next raid, Tier 5 have certain requirements.

First, the number 1 problem with Funcom making T5 is simple. You need to SELL Rise of the Godslayer to new people. After all, why would they buy Godslayer if they can skip all that and go straight to Cetriss or T5 or whatever it's going to be called. Granted, only a small fraction of the current population (10% perhaps?) has even done T4. I would still like to see a smaller but BRUTALLY DIFFICULT Tier 5 come along.

+ First, and foremost. Funcom, you can create both T5 and actually boost sales of Godslayer (and thus subs, since you need a sub to enter Khitai). Here's how. Tier 5 can converge with the new crafting system. And the only loot that drops from T5 are items, tempering agents, magical meteorite ore, call it whatever you like that you can use to combine (in the new crafting system) with your T4 items to create even more powerful T5 item.

So, say you get the "chestguard of the fearless" (T4 heavy armor) and then in T5 you acquire the "ore of the fallen star" from the final Raid Boss, with these items and say annealing agent and a blacksmith's workshop (which both costs 100 gold each to use once). You can create the "Breastplate of Righteous Might" (T5 heavy armor). This way, T4 (and all of Khitai) will be requirement.

+ Make T5 BRUTALLY HARD. I mean INSANE. FULLY T4 toons just dying in 3 shots to trash. Bosses with 85% mitigation to magic, reflective damage against melee magic attacks, CC's and stuns everywhere. Just make it VERY VERY FRUSTRATING to complete.

+ Force it to have 2 of each class. A lot of guilds are doing raids where some classes...eh that ..um may be redundant or perhaps not entirely necessary (to put it nicely) are being short changed. Make sure that every portion of the raid boss or trash has a specific job for a specific class. So that it just is not possible to continue without at least 1 of that class being present.

+ Give it something other then 1 room 1 raid boss. Would like to see fights where it's just a flood of trash mobs, wave after wave coming in. Or a time trial or a puzzle and no boss etc.

    Thanks.

Let's see if I get you right. You state by yourself that only 10% of the playerbase is able to do T4.

Next, you suggest Funcom should implement a brutally frustrating hard T5 Raid, which could be done by even less players, I'd guess about 0.1% to 0.5% of the playerbase.

How for god's sake should this encourage new players to buy RotGS ? New players don't need new elitist dungeons. AoC needs new players, but these players are not attracted with more high tier content. A better F2P system, a stable connection and content accessible by fresh 80s would do the job.

    Ringofset...

AOC needs game systems. It needs game systems before it needs anything else.

    T5 raids are coming... ROFL.

I think the answers above sums it up really, but to get more technical you should be aware that this kind of "layered" or tiered advance has been tried out before in several other games and it drives the major player force away. No game has ever gained from satisfying a small, eliteist playerbase who can grind, mould, craft, trade and "creditcard" their way to top gear. AoC has already fallen into that trap with the PvP-tiers. No new player with any kind of insight in how this game works would ever dare set foot in a minigame now, it's a lost ship. The best thing Funcom have ever done to even that out is to make T4-gear viable for PvP.

Nope, you want a game that is casual-friendly and at the same time challenge the most active players. Not very easy to make...

    cetriss t5 yes plz.
but if its anything in the stupid molds proposed by ringofail hell no thank you.
mitigation check on tanks at around 56% should be cool.
no stupid no magic mitigation bosses.
    no insain trash mobs
just keep them at dificulty lvl of archfiend/emperor/lurker/general and its good.
doesnt need to be full t5 just first installment of t5 like with t1 wich is distributed in 3 difrenet places or even t2 wich has 3 wings
3 bosses dropping first parts of t5 gear wich shouldnt be mightier then t4 but harmonized to be an alternative to it with more class specific stats in the armor and not just generic dps stats for all archtypes like now.

game needs pvp content and revamp to pvp gear its op for soldiers&healers and crap for rogues&mages wich leads to major inbalances along side certain class abilities being overpowered.

They should nerf T3.5 and T4 by now, not create an insanely difficult T5.

In case you haven't noticed, AoC population is not exactly massive. Creating a new comprehensive set of systems that leaves out 99.5% of the remaining players is just going to fail hard[er].
