Thread: A direction for low-levels?

    Default A direction for low-levels?

As with all the other class forums, the Bear Shaman forums are lacking any advice for new non-80s.

What are some general gameplay/feat-choice tips for people leveling the class?

You might want to take a look at the old US forums, there are some slightly outdated yet still useful threads there.

As a general guide, read: http://forums-us.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=230824

    And as for healing: http://forums-us.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=181773

For any non-80 player, no matter what class, the best advice is to learn the class(and game).

The worst players are almost always those that takes advice as they get them and never try to learn the class.

While you level you can do pretty much whatever you want and it will not affect you performance much, if you find some content hard it is not because of how you feated, but because you are missing some essensial game mechanic.
    I am Stian ingame...

And I thought there's enough stuff on these forums to get around in the game.

Be careful about pre-3.4 stuff and people that say you should cast blue heal exactly every 15s

    Well said!

One will never be able to excel unless you're curious about what every single skill and mechanic will do for you.

So for low-levels, read all feats, spells and combos as they become available, then judge on your own if it sounds appealing or not.

Advice from veterans is always good if you can have a mind of your own about it. So here's from me:

    http://goo.gl/3pchC

Typically while leveling you should rush down the Spirit-tree to get Ether Theft and Rune of Agression at level 30. Both feats very strong to get asap.
At this point you could start on Wrath to get the charge "Ursine Rush" sooner, but personally I would go get Brutal Walker to boost your main manifestation, Manifestation of Spirit's damage. Nearby you'll have Manifestation of Sun too (another damagedealing manifestation), so grab that one too when it's available (level 40)
Never feat general as a Bear.
As you have your charge and manifestation of Sun there's only one way to go, Wrath:

Forest Manifestation! Read up on debuffing in this game, and you'll see the potential of the bear being a one of a kind class able to debuff with physical ruin, wrack and torment!
You should know the differences between a manifestation pulse and a manifestation vision by now. With forest, in most cases, you'll only trigger the pulse on the mobs surrounding you, then move on to a damagedealing vision either Spirit or Sun. This is bread and butter.

    then at 80:

Rampage and Mutilation. The powerhouse feats for damagedealing. With these you'll showball quite abit, and even more so as you aquire better gear.
Remember to feat Rune of Grounding too along the line.In endgame and leveling not to mention in PvP it can be very handy.

    Enjoy.

To Sarchopes, your post was removed? Why o.o

That is build-progression without refeating, and for fresh 80. Im sorry for not pointing that out.

You are right, Ether Theft becomes somewhat weak in later levels, but as a fresh 80 it is a handy tool to keep mana up yourself if you make some blueheal spamming mistakes, with no ursine spirit either... Not to mention groupmates if they are alike, not geared or playing perfectly unable keep mana up all the time.

Anyone saying Ether Theft is useless have bad judgement. The real problem is the position in feat-tree and the 3-point cost, not its effectiveness.
If you could have it for free people would use it frequently.
In pvp, see a friendly DT with no mana getting bashed on by 2-3 enemies? Hit a couple of them with ET and he's full. Some potential right there, believe me.
