[SOLVED] Unable to get 5.1, just Stereo - RESOLVED

Hi all,

I canot set my sound in another option than Stereo.
I have a Creative Xonar DG 5.1 and if I choose "Auto" or "5.1', I do not get any sound.
The only working option available is "Stereo".
Any clue about that plz?

You are talking about asus xonar right? Sound blasters are cards from creative.

I hate to say it but your "Creative Xonar DG 5.1" must be incompatible with age of conan. I suggest you just leave it to stereo.

Arf, bad news.
Any idea about a "compatible" Aoc card plz?

It should work, I can attest first hand that it is compatible with AoC. Have you checked the settings in the Asus Xonar control panel? Maybe it's set to stereo there? Also check windows settings.

Thx for the tip but both of them are set in 5.1 and work fine when tested.

I have experienced the same thing with Asus Xonar Essence STX

How to solve it?
Go into your Xonar Audio Center
Change Soundchannels to 6 Channels.
Restart game if you was ingame while changing this.


My bet is that you had it set on 8 channels and that made the same thing happen to me in Conan to.

Have a great time with 5.1 now GL
