    Unhappy Update Manager

Hello all! Im having trouble starting AoC. I downloaded it from Steam and whenever I click to play, I get an "Update Manager need to close" I have disabled firewalls and tried to run as administrator. None of these things have worked. I have also tried to download from main site and that didnt work either. I am running Windows 7.
    Thanks

its still not working guys. I downloaded the mentioned quick start program and it is doing the same thing. I may be using it wrong. What do I have to do to use it? Im a bit computer stupid. It also says "unable to locate LocalConfig.xml in the clients installation folder" whenever I right click on Aoc update manager on the lower toolbar.
    thanks

Maybe the LocalConfig.xml in your Age of Conan-directory is missing or damaged?

You can download a new one from this thread:

    http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthr...t=local+config

    Open your Age of Conan-directory,
-- find the file named LocalConfig.xml,
-- open it with the editor,
    -- delete all text,
-- replace it with the new text from http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthr...t=local+config (using copy & paste),
    -- save the file,
    -- close everything,
    -- and start AoC-patcher.

    Hope this helps

I don't know anything about Steam, but if you're trying to run the game through Steam, is it possible there's something off on their end? Like it's not recognizing the game is updated or something? Just a thought...

Steam doesn't do that for Age of Conan ... it's simply a dumb front end to launch the patcher. The patcher is responsible for updating the game.
