Funcom Community Update - 15th March

    Update 4.0.2
We are currently working to get update 4.0.2. ready again for the live servers next week. This was the update that had some stability issues end of February and which made us revert to the current version 4.0.1 again. The mentioned issues have been fixed now and when update 4.0.2 goes live, it will also re-activate the new Snake mount and make it available again. As always, we have to wait for the final test results before we can officially announce it to be ready.

    Suggestions and Input
Some of you have posted suggestions and ideas about what you would like to see changed or added to Age of Conan. Thanks for that! Such input is always welcome. We also want to encourage you to keep on posting about such ideas and maybe also check out what for example The Secret World has to offer in terms of additional options or mechanics you might be interested to see in Age of Conan as well. As Joel Bylos mentioned in the Game Director Letter in February we are looking into sharing features among the two games thanks to the shared technology platform. This is not a promise that everything will be possible but we surely will look into your suggestions and see what can be done.

    Weekly Community Updates
Now, about these weekly community updates like the one you are reading right now … we have been looking at the actual news we have been able to provide on a weekly basis with these updates. And we have come to the decision that we rather will stick to the monthly updates from the Game Director, just like we also do for The Secret World. This does of course not mean that no new info will be published also between those monthly letters. But these news will just be posted when they get available and not following a fixed weekly update schedule from now on.

I am suprised that you keept going with those "updates" for so long
    -_-

can't blame you for stoping, the "news well" is pretty dry. It's probably for the best.

also I have to mention that the new GD's activity on the forums is more than welcomed and refreshing, so him posting > weekly updates.

According to last weeks interview, the team is supposed to focus on AoC now that TSW Issue #6 is out, Could we get some details on that work? Like how much have been done on the new dungeons and raids, and how long untill the crafting update can hit TL?

Is the team settled in NC now?

They are still nailing favorites pictures on the walls and setting up mags on coffie tables. It will be a month or so before they get to do any coding.

Damn, must be good to be paid to pretty much be "moveing in" for 2 months

Oh, and keep paying the sub *wink wink*

Yeah, starting to get worried here. The patch of minor fixes was taken down in Feb. and still isn't up.

Hopefully it won't be 2-3 months before the next major update as Funcom will have seriously missed out on the recent Steam push.

    Couldn't agree more.

What I'd like from TSW: single server tech and/or LFG tool.

Deathwish should have the one character limit and no offline leveling scrapped, since people can hop over and play on their otherwise awesome rule set with single server tech anyway.

I never understood the push for LFG cries. Either ask in guild or ask in global? That and most pugs are horribad, its always super fun to have someone show up in greens and have no idea what FH/TW is, nor have it trained.

I got my hands on early concept art for next mount after lizard. Seems like a natural progression to me

    Funcom

The new team is kinda half n half right now, which is a massive pain in the backside.

The US citizens are in NC. The non-US folks are moving down in early April BUT due to the way some of the laws work, the people who are from other countries than Canada might have to fly home first, then fly in again.

We will be patching the fixed version from the last rollback - and yes it has taken time but that has mostly been QA time and ensuring that the patch was stable. Consider this "clearing the path" so that we can get on with future updates.

I prefer to give you guys concrete plans for updates when I have them, rather than scrounging for news every week which is why I asked Oliver to pull the weekly updates.

Finally, think about features large or small that you would like us to port over from The Secret World. That is "low hanging fruit" in a sense that the code already exists and could be anything from being able remap the dodge key to the achievement system.
