After watching the videos and concepts you can see the whole concept is very similar and I have no doubt they will deliver another deep experience.
    It's a nostalgia thing.

Also Numenera is a very weird concept. Every time I almost "get" it I come across information that throws all that out of a window.

It's a post apocaliptic/medival/fantasy/sci-fi ? Not calling it down but Planescape was a familiar setting and I read few good books from that world (funny story: started re-reading PS: Pages of Pain 3 days before kickstarter thingy BTW that book does Sigil and Lady JUSTICE).

Judging from the team it will be amazing, just not sure if I will like the world that much. Need a lot more new informations on the setting.

I just checked what will be the general feel of it - I don't want to hype myself up. Worst thing you can do.

You totally reminded me about the PS:T novella. It was ****ing atrocious... Anna had no ears and sheep fur!

No no.. That is not that book. Planescape: Torment is not Planescape: Pages of Pain.

Check it out, glowing review here: http://dnd.polter.pl/Strony-Bolu-c1028

I can confirm that book is everything that the author of the review says it is. REALLY well written.

I missed that book (saw only the ad on the back page of Secret Service or Reset), but I've read this one http://lubimyczytac.pl/ksiazka/56088/torment-udreka ...bleh!

So, I guess I have to check Pages of Pain then

Haha, the USD 2.5 million stretch goal includes an official apology by Colin McComb for AD&D 2nd edition's "Complete Book of Elves". Remember imba bladesingers?

Heh, good one. I recently had a look at 4e alignment rules - are they dumbing it down?

Damn, it feels good just to see how enthusiastic they are

Can't be bothered with 4e to be honest. If I could choose, I'd be playing something more akin to GURPS (more precisely: Das Schwarze Auge, a German system on which the old Realms of Arcania CRPGs were based), but since my RP friends from high school are old slackers I guess we'll be stuck with D&D 3.5e forever.

Might check out Numenera out of interest at some point. I like the idea of magic being about the rediscovery of knowledge that has been lost... ofc, magic is always shrouded in ancient mysteries of sorts (that's what makes it magic), but the approach in Numenera lends itself to making this a lot more concrete. Not sure about the details though, but then since I'm stuck with 3.5e anyway I'm not in a hurry

1.5 days left on this. Currently at approx USD 3.6 million. They got lots of great RPG designers on board for this, including Chris Avellone (who had the lead on PS:T, of course).

So if you haven't backed this yet, give now and give freely:

rpgcodex.net is running and additional campaign that will continue after KS ends - http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index...-a-game.81608/ - the goal is to put some rpgcodex related stuff into the game.

They did similar campaign for Project Eternity - http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index...or-your.76539/

With 10 hours to go and current kickstarter contributions of USD 3.87m, Torment may in fact beat the USD 4m mark (and thus narrowly beat Project Eternity).

Looks like 2014 will be a good year for old school RPGers

And yes, RPGCodex is the place to be. We should send some of our less imaginative forum members there to learn the art of creative trolling (just read the concept for their party encounter in Project Eternity, awesome stuff).
