My current build
My current rotation
max rank BTD, then HS6, HS3, BTD, Firelance, HS6. I keep HFB on cool down, and throw in EoX right before the finisher on BTD
Since Firelance is all fire damage, I put it into my second BTD rotation once the boss has been fully magic debuffed.
All builds are different, and I have had around four of them! There is no "best build" either, just like for any other class.It's sad that all hox builds are very similar to each other.
My old levelling (including low-level PvP) build: http://goo.gl/mAbf3 (I was on a PvE server, and this build was actually viable in low-level PvP).
I use the following build in some encounters, including T3.5: http://goo.gl/ZAoXu
I use two more for PvP and general PvE, but, again, they are different from the previous ones.

- Remove the world bosses forever on Crom;
- remove offline levels;
- slow down the AA gain;
- lower the PVP XP gain for the streak system to match the previous levelling speed;
- remove AoE looting forever;
- add the missing mobs back to Khesh., F. of the Dead, and Eigl. Mount.;
- fix the 250+ms ping after the relocation;
- take the key away from Saddur;
- revert T3 and GGG changes;
- remove energy;
- add skills back to the game!
i found this build (link) that is quite different from everything else i had usually seen, but i had no time to test it yet...
what do you think about it??
"in the depths of a mind insane fantasy and reality are the same"
Yawgmoth (Ranger) - Nyxathid (Necro) - Yixlid (HoX) - Kaltas (DT) - Heung (BS) - Teysa (HoX) - Gatzu (Guard) - Krovax (Ranger) - Hurkyl (Barb) - Vedalken (PoM)
Vali~The Mental Mushroom
Vehl~The Pink Flamingo
Tisane~Kettle of Xotli
Nvah~ . . .
For PvE purposes never ever let go of dat Improved Burning Skull (parses around 3% from your damage, and thats just for 1 skill point; compare that to Hatred of the Living, which just adds 2% to HfB, which in turn parses only for around 20%-25%, effectivly leaving the one single point at 0.5% damage increase)!
PoIF only shines with Searing Hatred (adding around 1000 dot damge to that combo), but sadly it doesnt stack. So u have to take your time between Pillars. I'd recommend using them right after ur BtD so the pillar combo itself as well as the dot will be "exultated", not sure but i think the SH dot scales with weapon damage just like the BtD dot.
Nevertheless i'd recommend SH, but the dps difference between a HS- and a SH-oriented Build only is marginal, cuz the HS-spec has access to Knowledge of the Underworld and Butcher whereas the SH-spec only has access to one of those.
Imho the best build posted this far:
