This mini-game takes place in the Pictish Wilderness, where players will fight over control of a strategic region of the wilderness. This region however will not be easy to control. Jhebbal Sag, the Lord of Beasts, might have some sort of influence on the outcome of the battle.

This mini-game introduces the new Conquest rule-set. In this rule-set, each side starts with a certain amount of resources. Resources are then lost for each capture point that the enemy holds for a certain time or if your allies fall in battle. If a side runs out of resources they can not continue and their opponents are victorious and they are forced to retreat, to attempt to fight for this region another day.

Each side in this mini-game has two teams. So the battle is a 12 versus 12 encounter. Victory is defined by forcing your opponent down to zero resource points. There are several capture points on the map that you have to fight over. The more points your side holds the more resources the other team loses every ‘tick’ of progression. The points will have different resource values depending on their location and proximity to a respawn point. The further away you venture the greater the gain.

Players can also bring their mounts to this mini-game, which will add another different mechanic to the area that you haven’t seen in the other mini-games. Finally there are also random buffs/debuffs located around the mini-game that can tip the tide of battle. Each node though is not guaranteed to be beneficial. Will you receive the blessing of Jhebbal Sag or his curse?

The mini-game comes with three new PvP quests which are automatically added to the quest journal upon joining the mini-game (if they are not on cooldown):

  • The first quest is to win the mini-game.
  • The second quest is to participate in the mini-game.
  • The last is to obtain Jhebbal's blessings.

Mini-game Goals

The primary goal of this mini-game was to create a larger scale mini-game, without turning this into a chaotic battle. There are clear objectives that encourage working together as a team. There are multiple distinct roles that will benefit your team. You can attack or defend capture points, support people doing this, scout for enemy movement or be the lone wolf that preys on enemy stragglers. Almost any action will benefit your team. However the primary goal is to encourage the players to work as a team. If a team does not work together it will be difficult to emerge victorious.

The mechanics in the mini-game should reflect this goal. While the objectives in the mini-game are clear, there are various ways to reach these objectives. You can either capture enough capture points and make your opponent run out of resources, or eliminate enough enemy troops for your opponent to have to surrender. The new mini-game should encourage more team oriented PvP compared to the old ones.
