The feedback gathered during the announced PvP test earlier this week was very helpful! The team has read through the input and reports and has already made certain adjustments to the map and game-play mechanics.

The most important of the tweaks during this phase of testing have been centered how the scoring works and the control points. Based on the feedback from the testers so far we have decided to reduce the number of control point on the map (from seven to five), as that was something that was fairly consistent in the feedback. The timers have also been adjusted to improve the pace of the game itself. These adjustments should be available with the next update to the test servers.

The testing of the new matchmaking system has also been very valuable. The test community did a great job of breaking the new queue in a variety of ways that have allowed us to identify and squash the relevant code bugs. This allowed us to deploy the updated matchmaking system already, as it went to test live earlier this week. A huge thanks to those who have been helping us test the queue, all those mini-games on test that started with the wrong numbers of players were of great benefit to the bug-fixing process. That is exactly what we have the test server for!

The other main talking point has of course been the Guardian revamp, and the systems folks are going to be taking some of that discussion into consideration as they work on the next iteration of the changes for the test server. As always, our thanks go out to those who have been playing with the new builds, and actually trying them out on the test server. You will be able to follow those developments and iterations as the new versions get deployed to the test server as the 2.1 testing continues. (Remember you can find the test server update notes on the testlive forums).
