Installation: (Q&A Style)
This installation walk-through was created to make the process of installing my UI easy on everyone.
Q: What do I need to install this UI?
A: All you will need is a program to unzip the file. Windows has a default zip program (WinZip), but there are plenty of others to choose from and download. WinRar, 7Zip, etc.. google search for one. (I personally use WinRar)
Q: I unziped the file, but there are several folders.
A: Yes, this is correct. There should be a total of 5 folders. Explained below:
---- [Customized] - This folder holds all the images AND the custom UI code.
---- [NORMAL - Full 3 Bars] - This folder contains the '[Views]' folder for the 'normal sized' UI with 3 bars.
---- [NORMAL - Full 2 Bars] - This folder contains the '[Views]' folder for the 'normal sized' UI with 2 bars.
---- [SMALL - Full 3 Bars] - This folder contains the '[Views]' folder for the 'small sized' UI with 3 bars.
---- [SMALL - Full 2 Bars] - This folder contains the '[Views]' folder for the 'small sized' UI with 2 bars.
Q: Ok, I understand the folders now, but how do I install it?
A: You will need to locate your 'Age Of Conan' interface folder within your system, by default it is in the directory listed below:
---- C:\Program Files\Funcom\Age of Conan\cd_image\Gui
Q: Ok I located the folder, now what?
A: We will install the images first. This is the [Customized] folder you saw in the zip file.
---- 1. FIRST, Delete any [Customized] folder that may already be present in the Age Of Conan GUI folder.
---- 2. COPY the [Customized] folder from the zip file into the interface folder. (C:\Program Files\Funcom\Age of Conan\cd_image\Gui)
Q: Ok, I installed the images, now what?
A: Next we will install the style of the UI you want. Select the UI folder you would like from the Zip file. Remember there are 4 different sizes to choose from.
---- 1. Select your desired UI size in the zip file and OPEN the folder (There will be NO renaming with my UI).
---- 2. You will see a [Views] folder inside.
---- 3. Now COPY the [Views] folder from the zip file INTO [Customized] folder that you previously copied over. (C:\Program Files\Funcom\Age of Conan\cd_image\Gui)
That is how simple it is! Remember, this is just how to install MY UI, other authors may have other methods.
